Medical Transcription Careers
A career in medical transcription is an exceptionally rewarding and inspiring position. As a Medical Transcriptionist (MT), you are responsible for the creation and delivery of accurate medical documentation for patients and healthcare professionals.
Medical transcription is part of the healthcare industry that renders and edits doctor dictated reports, procedures, and notes in an electronic format. Health practitioners dictate what they have done after performing procedures on patients and MT’s transcribe the oral dictation ready for delivery.
Working in medical transcription leads to the mastery in medical terminology and editing, ability to listen and type simultaneously, utilisation of playback controls on the typing platform, and the use of foot pedal to play and adjust dictations – all while maintaining a steady rhythm of execution.
Thanks to iMedX Australia’s secure transcription platform, all of our MT's work successfully from home as Independent Contractors. Job flexibility is a huge bonus in the Medical Transcription industry as our MTs choose their own days and hours to work, with transcription available 24 hours a day 7 days per week. Rostering of work hours is done in advance and locked in to suit you.
Our clients have come to expect the highest degree of accuracy and professionalism when trusting us with their transcription needs. As such, we require all MTs to either have a recognised qualification in Medical Transcription or at least 3 years of Medical Transcription experience (medical audio typing). A health background is highly desirable as you must be able understand the audio that you are typing.
