What costs and contracts are associated with OzeScribe?
There are no OzeScribe software costs and there are no contracts. You simply only pay for the lines that are typed (65 Character Lines). There are no charges for electronic document delivery. Copies of signed documents can be retrieved electronically by both the Specialist and Referring Doctor free of charge. What digital recorders are supported by OzeScribe?
OzeScribe currently supports the Olympus DS-330 & DS-4000 models and Dragon Voice-IT recorders. We can convert other recorder formats, please enquire. PC headset and microphone may also be used to record voice files in .wav or mp3 format to be delivered to OzeScribe. Q. Can I use my mobile or telephone to dictate to OzeScribe? OzeScribe provides Dial-In Services currently in Sydney and Melbourne. OzeScribe provides a User ID and Pin Number to access the Dial-In service. The Dial-In service provides convenient access to our transcription services from any mobile or telephone access point throughout the world, 24x7.
What Operating systems and hardware requirements are required for OzeScribe?
OzeScribe is not resource hungry. OzeScribe works on Windows platforms from Windows 98 through to Windows XP. A USB port is required for the Olympus DS-330 recorder (NT platform not USB compatible). Pentium III with 64Mb is the minimum requirement. Your system should be able to run Windows Internet Explorer v6.1 and higher.
Is OzeScribe compatible for the Macintosh?
OzeScribe uses the FTP method for uploading digital voice files from the Mac compatible Olympus DS-330 recorder. Copies of documents may be retrieved using FTP in Text or Word format for use by Mac word processors. Various FTP client programs such as CuteFTP for Mac, Fetch and others are required to upload. Hypersend is another popular uploading program.
Does OzeScribe work with Dial-Up Internet?
Yes. However, the faster your connection, the better response. Broad-band (ADSL, Cable etc.) are recommended to improve performance and response times, especially for large voice files, and printing.
I like to work from home or week-ends away. How can OzeScribe help me?
OzeScribe is an excellent solution for mobility. You are not restricted to your network. OzeScribe software can be installed on any number of machines including notebooks, so that voice files can be uploaded 24/7 to our transcription data centre, using the Internet (local call). Within 24 hours or next business day, your letters may be reviewed/edited and printed from a web-browser. Archived documents may also be located and printed.
Is OzeScribe a secure service for medical transcription?
OzeScribe is a professional solution for medical transcription. Email is not used, which may in fact violate National Privacy Principles. All connections to the military grade transcription data centre are secured by direct SSL connections over the web, and any document uploaded or downloaded in those sessions is encrypted with 128bit encryption, with individual certificates assigned to every document. Passwords are issued to authorised parties, and security roles are established for authorised users.
Are my documents typed overseas?
No. OzeScribe customers in Australia have their documents typed and Quality Assured locally. OzeScribe is currently running courses at its Melbourne headquarters to facilitate the increasing demand of medical transcription in Australia. Our courses are popular and will produce qualified medical transcriptionists for OzeScribe clients.
